Rashid Sumaila rejoins Kototo on loan

Rashid Sumaila 333Asante Kotoko have secured the services of Rashid Sumaila on a one year loan move from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sundowns exhausted their foreign quota, by replacing Rashid Sumaila, prior to the start of 2014-15 PSL season, hence necessitating his move to the Porcupine Warriors on a season long loan.

The 24-year-old arrived in Ghana on Saturday to relaunch his career with the Ghana League champions and is determined to work extra harder.

“I arrived in Ghana two days ago, but at the moment I am in Accra and will travel to Kumasi to begin training on Tuesday.

“It is a season long loan and I am hoping things go on well for me. I will help the course of Asante Kotoko to continuing the successes they have been chalking,” he told Allsports.com.gh

The Ghanaian international will be eligible to play for the Porcupine Warriors following an extension to players under the special dispensation, despite the close of the transfer window

Sumaila is not new to Kotoko having featured for them on loan from relegated Ebusua Dwarfs.

He was part of Ghana’s 2014 World Cup squad in Brazil but lost his place in the team due to lack of playing time and recurrent injuries.
