GFA and British High Commissioner smoke peace pipe

GFA, British High Commissioner bury the hatchet; aim at developing Ghana football

The perceived strained relationship between the Ghana Football Association and the UK High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, has been repaired after a formalization meeting at the FA’s secretariat yesterday.

Jon Benjamin in December last year suggested the FA had to come clean with the disbursement of FIFA grants over the years and accused  its leadership for mismanaging Ghana football.

However after a closed door meeting yesterday between the two parties; all seems to be well.

Ghana FA president Kwasi Nyantakyi in an interaction with the media afterwards confirmed there was no bad blood between both parties.

“ I can confirm to you that we are not enemies with the high commissioner, we are very good friends.”

“He likes Ghana so much, he is a very passionate person when it comes to issues on society, on soccer and so on.”

“He shares his views with us, very objective.”

“He is not that type that refrains from sharing his opinion on topical issues in public.”

“We are building on this relationship to improve the level of game in Ghana.”
