Players of Accra Hearts of Oak will be smiling to the bank today as they will be paid a triple winning bonus of GH¢1,800 after their 2-0 infamous win over SC Medeama at the Tarkwa TNA Park.

Coach Kenichi’s side put up a spirited performance last Sunday to add more woes to an SC Medeama team that had lost its first match of the Ghana Premier League against Ashantigold in match week 1.

The team which initially had a winning bonus of GH¢300 last season saw that amount doubled to GH¢600 by the board coming into the 2015/16 season.

However, prior to the match against Medeama, the Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV promised the team that he will double the winning bonus if the pick all three points, and true to his word, he has issued a cheque to that effect on Monday and each of the 18 players on the team sheet will receive GH¢1,200.

Fellow Board member Alhassan Andani who was present at the Tarkwa TNA Park last Sunday added another GH¢600 to the amount, making it GH¢1,800 for all 18 players on the day.

This by far will go a long way to motivate both the playing body as well as the technical staff to give off their best in subsequent matches starting with their away trip to Cape Coast on Sunday in match week 3 fixture against another troubled side, Ebusua Dwarfs.
