Prince Dornu-Leiku, the founding editor of your authoritative wwwsportsinghana.com has been nominated for the maiden online sports reporter of the year awards on the ticket of Allsports.com.gh where he currently works.

The Ghana Sports Excellence Awards was officially launched in Accra on Monday and scheduled for January 9, 2015 at the British Council.

The programme is aimed at awarding individuals who in diverse ways assisted in the promotion of sports in the country, the event is expected to attract various sports men and women in the country and beyond.

Speaking at the launch,Events Director, Yaa Addo stated that, the motive of the awards is to recognize the efforts of individuals in the sports industry.
She added that, “the aim of this event is to celebrate excellence throughout Ghanaian sport and to reward the various stakeholders – personalities, teams, and clubs for their outstanding achievements across the sporting spectrum”. 

“The awards are designed to be all encompassing highlighting not only athletes but volunteers, sports media, as well as officials without whom many sports would not be successful,” she stressed.

She said organizers would like to demonstrate to the World that in Ghanaian sport and recreation, we should aim to celebrate the spirit of human triumph – not mediocrity.

The awards cover any Ghanaian athlete, administrator or stakeholder who excelled during the period January 1, 2014 – November 20, 2014.
