Accra BasketBall League: Icons Academy upset Ghana Airforce

Icons Basketball Academy has secured an impressive win over Ghana Airforce Turbojets in the 2021 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II Regular Season matchup.

The game was played out earlier today at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in Accra and was the first of three matchups at the league venue. Tudu Galaxy beat DUNK 62-39.

Icons beat Airforce 52-30 with the former holding double digit leads for long stretches in the contest that had its fair share of athletic highlights plays.

BSA lost 46-47 to Ghana Army (black) in the second game of the day

Icons Bernard Dushie slammed in a dunk two handed to give Icons a 42-24 third quarter lead in a fitting way to close the third quarter.

Abdul Rahim-Allotey and Percy Agbemazior on either team scored to open the final quarter and Icons Allotey blocked a layup attempt from Turbojets’ Amos Agbodo.

Allotey rejected another shot for his second block in the quarter. Dushie drove hard to the basket and scored to give Icons a 46-36 lead with 4:04 minutes remaining.

Cyril Klenam scored a three pointer from the corner before Icons Allotey delivered a highlight reel put back slam.

Icons Wahna Nuse scored the game’s final shot to seal the win.
