Hearts unveil Awako, other new signings

Ghana champions, Accra Hearts of Oak have in an official announcement unveiled new signing Gladson Awako, amid taking a jab at rivals, Great Olympics as landguards.

Even before the 2020/2021 Ghanaian football season was concluded, it was clear that there was interest from the Phobians to sign the highly-rated attacker from Olympics.

“From landguard to landlord” the Hearts of Oak tweet began an instant mockery at their bitter city rivals.

“The club is glad to announce the addition of Gladson Awako to the squad. Welcome to the Rainbow family,” the post added.

Awako joins the Phobians on a 2 year deal and has already been registered as in the Ghanaian heavyweights’ CAF Champions League squad.

Awako was key to Great Olympics’ relatively success this past season, making 30 appearance and banging in 7 goals as Wonder Club hovered in the top 6 all season long.

The former TP Mazembe attacking midfielder enjoyed a roller coaster season during which he also made his debut for the Black Stars in the AFCON qualifiers against Sao Tome.

Meanwhile, in addition to the hitherto Great Olympics poster boy, the Phobians have also secured the services of Suraj Seidu, Isaac Agyenim Boateng and returnee hit man, Kofi Kordzi who were all also unveiled to the Phobian fans.
