South Africa FA chief Danny Jordaan charges BAfana to qualify for World Cup

President of the South African Football Association (SAFA) Danny Jordaan has asked the Bafana Bafana and coach Hugo Broos to as a matter of urgency forget about missing out on the 2021 African Cup of Nations and concentrate on qualifying for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Drawn in Group G with Zimbabwe, Ghana, and Ethiopia, coach Hugo Broos’ men will face their neighbours (Zimbabwe) tomorrow before hosting the Black Stars in Johannesburg on Monday, September 06.

Speaking to the team ahead of their departure to Zimbabwe on Wednesday, Danny Jordaan informed the playing body that the entire nation is solidly behind them so they should use the World Cup qualifying campaign to make Mzansi proud.

“The Coach has all our [SAFA] support. We have hope again and we have newness in a team in terms of staff and new when I speak of the players, some of them are very young and already playing international football,” said the SAFA President.

“What we will demand is qualification for the next AFCON [Africa Cup Of Nations] and the next World Cup and we have faith that we can manage that with the calibre of Coach that we have.”
