Ghana Badminton announce opening for scholarships for young athletes at Australian Sports University in partnership with Badminton World Federation

Ghana Badminton-the governing and supervisory body of the sport in Ghana, is excited to announce today, in collaboration with the World Federation, is offering 100 Scholarships for Young Athletes to benefit from World Academy of Sport Programme and the Federation University, Australia.

Ghana Badminton, together with BWF & WAoS, is offering 100 scholarships for a WAoS Athlete Certificate and four full fledge degree programmes for Ghanaian young athletes, administrators, and officials of the sport of Badminton.  The scholarship which is an online course developed for aspiring young athletes aged between 15 to 18 years of age who want to gain a broader understanding of the tools needed to become successful and knowledgeable athletes.

Content writers who work regularly with athletes have designed and written the course and overseen by an expert reference group representing several International Federations. They can complete the online course within 4.5 hours.

For the degree programme, one (1) fully funded scholarship and four (4) 25% scholarships are available for the Bachelor of International Sports Management degree offered by WAoS and Federation University. This course appeals to individual players and administrators looking to launch their careers in the sports industry and builds upon the Athlete Certificate and Post Graduate Certificate Scholarship Programmes previously offered by BWF and WAoS.

Ghana Badminton President Evans Yeboah said: “Together with BWF and Federation University, Australia, we are excited to have delivered this opportunity for our young and aspiring administrators of our sport across the nation-helping build a better sporting Ghana-with a hundred scholarships and five-degree programmes available. We look forward to integrating this tacit knowledge into our Badminton Ghana family in the medium to long term, knowing that sport and education enhance each other.”

All applicants will need to be in good standing with their Badminton Community Clubs, or School to be eligible. Successful applicants will be selected and will receive a full scholarship to allow them to take part in the university programme and the World Academy of Sport.
