Ghana Rugby, represented by DELEGATES at a Special General Meeting
(Congress) held on 8th June, 2021, removed Herbert Mensah from office as
Board Chairman and President of Ghana Rugby by a majority vote when the
motion for his removal was tabled at the said Meeting. Mr. Herbert Mensah
therefore does not represent Ghana Rugby in any capacity. The same members
who voted to make him president voted him out.
However, he keeps holding himself out as Chairman and President of Ghana
Rugby contrary to the resolution of Members dated 8th June, 2021.
Mr. Mensah also went ahead to register buses meant for Ghana Rugby in his
wife’s name.
The new revelation is that, after a painstaking investigations, we have
uncovered that Mr. Mensah has opened and is operating a secret bank
account in the name of Ghana Rugby at the Access Bank. Mr. Herbert Mensah could you believe has opened a secret bank account in the name of Ghana Rugby on the blind side of the Ghana Rugby board with which he draws funds from corporate Ghana and our governing bodies. We have initiated a freeze on that account and we are currently conferring with our lawyers to bring criminal charges against him since this borders on fraud.

Mr. Mensah is a man who doesn’t play by the rules. He has remarked on
several occasions that he takes arbitrary decisions when it comes to Ghana
Rugby and does not need to account to anybody.
Again, we are sending a strong word of caution to our governing bodies,
especially the NSA and Rugby Africa to desist from engaging with Mr. Mensah
who no longer represents Ghana Rugby in any capacity.
