Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) Administration Vice President, Alex Kukula has expressed the body’s willingness to partner with RITE Sports to make Sprite Ball Xpressions bigger.
He said this during the official launch of the Basketball and Music themed program due to be staged on December 24 at the Aviation Social Center in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
Sprite Ball Xpressions represents an upgrade on the famous Sprite Ball Championship that is in its 15th season; the launch was held earlier today at the De’lish Restaurant and the upcoming event has a prominent virtual music competition attached.
“This is a very big platform and we-GBBA- are planning to partner with RITE Sports to make it (Sprite Ball Xpressions) even bigger…This tournament is a perfect launch for us to use as the foundation to build a good youth team so that we could have stronger national teams in future” Kukula stated.
Young players are to form four community teams to compete at the regional level and the top players get picked to represent the respective regions. Six teams will represent six regions at the national event on December 24.
Regions to represent at the national level are Western, Ashanti, Central, Volta, Greater Accra and Eastern. Sprite Ball Xpressions is sponsored by Sprite.
