Officials of the International Basketball University have extensive plans to commence the Greater Accra 3×3 Basketball League in April.
The competition will serve the growth of the abridged form of the conventional sport of basketball that has gained widespread popularity in Ghana and got added to the Olympics sports disciplines.
The competition’s start date is yet to be determined but it can be confirmed that the league will take place at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Accra.
16 teams in all are slated to compete in the league with ten teams in the Men’s Division and six teams in the Women’s Division. Registration has commenced.
The program is a product of a four way partnership between sports apparel company and sports management Clockwork Brand, Gem of Hope Foundation, International Basketball University (IBU) and the Lithuanian Basketball Federation (LBF).
The IBU and LBF has a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA); the deal was signed in late 2021.
