Black Princesses hold training in Addis Ababa ahead of Sunday’s FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia

The Black Princesses of Ghana held their official training at the Abebe Bikila stadium in Addis Ababa ahead of their first leg encounter against Ethiopia.

Head Coach Ben Fokuo trained with the full squad that travelled for this crucial encounter.

He speaks on weather condition, expectations and preparations towards the last match in the qualifying campaign ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup in Costa Rica.

On weather conditions, Coach Ben Fokuo believes it won’t play a part in tomorrow’s game as they are prepared

“ We know the weather already and it is not bad. We had our official training and if you look at how the girls are working hard, you will know the weather is not an issue. The weather is not so different from what we are used to in Ghana”

He added that, the team has prepared hard in Ghana to make it to this stage of the qualifying campaign

“We have been preparing at Ghanaman and had series of friendly matches. The players want to make it to Costa Rica and their demeanour shows so I know they will get all the maximum points tomorrow”

With the tag as favourites, Ben Fokuo believes it puts no pressure on his team

“ The Princesses have always made it to the World Cup and this won’t be a time to miss out on Costa Rica. We will do our best to qualify and we have taken it game at a time to reach to the last round. We are not under pressure but I know we will go to the World Cup.” he added.

Shot Stopper Cynthia Findib Konlan also spoke on the weather and support from Ghanaians.

“ The weather in Ethiopia is a little different from Ghana but we won’t have that in our mind. We are going to win and the weather condition won’t be a problem”

“ We want all Ghanaians to support us and they should expect a win because we are going all out. They should continue supporting us and we will do our best to make them proud” she added.

The game is scheduled for 1:00 GMT kick off at the Abebe Bikila stadium, on Sunday March 13th 2022.
