Bright Brains Aflatoun Academy wins best cadet award at 66th Independence Day parade in Tema

Ashaiman-Jericho based Bright Brains Aflatoun Academy, a preparatory school in the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly won the overall special young cadets award during the 66th Ghana independence day celebration at Tema Sports Stadium, which hosted the Greater Accra Region event.

Under the theme, ‘Our unity, our strength, our purpose,’ the Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso, Hon. Henry Quartey who was the guest of honour, called on Ghanaians to reflect on the theme of this year’s independence day parade as a tool to promote all sectors of the Ghanaian economy.

He laid emphasis on the role as citizens to keep our environment clean and lauded the operation ‘clean your frontage.’

The Regional Minister was also grateful to President Nana Akufo-Addo on the free education module as its yielding results and even cited his pride of the standard of education in the region especially Presec, Legon for winning the National Maths and Science Quiz competition.

Proprietors of Bright Brain Aflatoun Academy, Hon. Salomey Nkansah and Mr. Kennedy Owusu Okrah were proud of the award as their young cadet team which was tagged ‘Baby Police’ after their splendid performance as the youngest cadet corps in the Greater Accra Region and was also the only school to represent the the whole of the Ashaimam Municipality.

Headteacher of Bright Brains Aflatoun Academy, Mr. Emmanuel Sackey advised the kids to keep their consistent performance, following from their being decorated the best cadet corps during last year’s independence day parade held in Ashaiman.

He appealed to the Municipal Assembly, corporate bodies and all to come and support the school in terms of infrastructure because of how the school is uplifting the image of  Ashaiman.

In all over fifty schools comprising school cadet corps, the Military, Police, Fire Service, Navy, Municipal and District Chief Executives,the clergy, chiefs and representatives from all districts in the Greater Accra Region.

Amasanman Senior High School won the overall best school cadet with Tema Senior High and Achimota Scholl emerging second and third best during the match pass and of course Bright Brain Aflatoun Academy emerging as the overall special award for being the youngest cardet corp in the Greater Accra Region after their splendid performance which was admired by all.

Elorm Maadey Adzigodi, part of the cardet corps, granted interviews on behalf of the school.

Meanwhile, This year’s national independence day event was held at Adaklu in the Volta Region of Ghana with the president, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo  being the special guest of honour.
