Sports Minister rides at Tour Du Ghana

In a remarkable first in the history of Ghanaian cycling, the Honourable Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Eddie Adams, joined cyclists during the ceremonial segment of the 3FM Tour Du Ghana.

This symbolic gesture saw the Minister actively participate in the opening ride before officially flagging off the competitive leg of the race.

The competitive stage, covering 146.5 km from Accra to Aflao, took place Saturday, 21st June 2025.

The Minister’s involvement has been widely applauded as a sign of the government’s renewed commitment to the growth of cycling and the promotion of healthy, active lifestyles through sport.

“This unprecedented act is a true breakthrough for Ghana Cycling and a positive signal ahead of the upcoming International Tour Du Ghana, slated for November 13th to 24th, 2025,” said Shaaban Mohammed, Secretary General of the Ghana Cycling Federation.

“It marks a new era of partnership and recognition from government towards the cycling community,” he added.

The Ghana Cycling Federation hails this moment as a historic milestone that will strengthen national support for the sport and inspire a new generation of riders across the country.
