Sheriff Quaye’s opponent Emmanuel Amos arrives in Ghana for WBO Africa fight

Emmanuel Amos, Tanzanian opponent of Ghana’s Sheriff ‘One Time’ Quaye in Friday’s upcoming WBO Africa lightweight title fight in Accra has arrived in the country five days before fight night.

22 year old Amos (16-5-1, 9 KOs) landed at the Kotoka International Airport on Sunday afternoon in the company of his coach and headed straight to his hotel after going through stringent Covid-19 protocols.

Notwithstanding, a very confident Amos, nicknamed ‘Spider Man’ expressed delight to be in Ghana for this title fight and remains adamant he will return to Tanzania a victor.

“Obviously I’m here to win and take the title home as the new Africa champion. I must admit that Sheriff Quaye is a good boxer but I will show that I am better when we get into the ring,” Amos told pressmen at the airport.

“Truth be told I can’t say much about Sheriff Quaye’s fighting style but I have seen that he has fought some good boxers and on Friday I will show him that I am different, he has never faced a talented fighter like myself,” the Tanzanian added full of poise.

The fight against 26 year old Quaye (20-3-1, 13 KOs) headlines the Swavy Blu collaborative bill with Bronx Boxing Promotions at the Royal Dede Golden Beach Resort in Korle-Gonno, Accra this Friday, December 10, 2021.

A pre-fight press conference is scheduled for Tuesday before the weigh-in on Thursday.
