2022 Cross-Country William Amponsah and Juliana Lariba Sakat win 2022 Ghana Cross-Country

24 years old William Amponsah from Central Region emerged as the winner in the men’s category of the 4th edition of 2022 National Cross Country held in Akim Oda.

Koogo Atia from the North East Region placed second with a time of 29:25:61.

While Aziz Mohammed from the Central Region with Bib number 042 finished third with a time of 29:47:95.

William Amponsah clocked 28:16:71 to finish ahead of 91 other competitors in competition.

 

In the female category, 25 year old Juliana Lariba Sakat from the Upper East Region beat 91 other athletes to win the ultimate.

Juliana Lariba Sakat made impresive time of 35:07.90.

Sherifa Moro from Ashanti Region placed second with a time of 35:41:41 and Titi Rosina from Upper West also finish third position with a time of 35:52:35 respectively.

The competition is an initiative of the National Sports Authority and aimed at selecting and grooming athletes for the upcoming 13th All African Games which will be hosted in Ghana next year.

The competition forms part of a series of qualification events to select Team Ghana for Accra 2023.

Over all best Male team goes to Central Region whiles Upper West place second and Ashanti Region placed third position respectively.

Over all best Female team goes to Upper West whiles Ashanti Region Placed second and Upper East  placed third position.
