Draw for Africa Elite Boxing Championships to be held July 27

The Africa Elite Men’s and Women’s Championships Boxing Championships gets underway on July 27 with the official draw being conducted in the evening in Yaounde, Cameroon.

Announcing the official programme of the highly anticipated $1million tournament, the Secretary-General of Africa Boxing Confederation (AFBC), Andre Basile Kalong, said sports entry check will be done on July 26-27.

“It will be followed by the technical committee meeting on the evening of July 27 and then the official draw,” said Basile who told AfBC Communications everything is going on well so far.

“It’s hectic but we’re managing, we want to stage the best ever Africa Championships, it’s fully supported by the Cameroon government,” said Basile (pictured).

Boxers will start trading leather on July 28 with the first preliminaries session followed by the second preliminaries session on July 29, both days from 11:00am to 14:00.

Basile said as from July 30 to August 5 there will be two sessions per day.
