Match day 6: Accra Lions host RTU in Accra on Friday

Accra Lions will aim for maximum points against Real Tamale United as the two sides lock horns on Matchday six of the betPawa Premier League at the Accra Sports stadium on Friday.

Accra Lions have gone two games without a win after suffering back to back defeats to Asante Kotoko and Accra Great Olympics.

Lions host Real Tamale United who are yet to win an away game thus far following a 2-1 loss to Bofoakwa Tano in Sunyani and a 3-0 defeat to Gold Stars at the Dun’s Park.

Accra Lions moved from 9th place to the 13th spot after their 3-0 defeat to Accra Great Olympics on Monday. 

Ibrahim Tanko’s Accra Lions have recorded one win, two losses and two draws in their first five games in the league.

Real Tamale United won their last game – 3-1  over Karela United – having replaced Accra Lions in the 9th position with two wins, two defeats and one draw in their first five games.

Accra Lions have recorded one victory over Real Tamale United at home since their debut Premier League season in 2021/22 – with the away side also winning one match.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko has Baba Salifu Apiiga, Bernald Kesse, Shaukan Abubakari, Shaukan Mohammed, Musa Hamzata, Ali Mohammed, Daniel Awuni and Abass Samari Salifu available for selection.

Real Tamale United’s Abdul Mumin who is looking forward to his sides first away point in the season is expected to parade his top scorer, Afriyie Owusu who has scored 3 goals in the League. Others include Hilary Adabo, Hafiz Adams, Baba Kushibo, Abdul Aziz and Moahmmed Alhassan Mankuyeli. 

The game will be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 at 3pm on Friday, October 20,2023.
