Bastian Dieti of Obroni Cycling team rose above the Peloton to win the opening road race of the 2025 Tour du Ghana cycling championships in Ho, Volta Region on Tuesday.
Dieti claimed the decisive victory on the second stage of the Tour du Ghana, a demanding 80km race from Ho to Fume. Dieti broke away from the peloton to secure a solo win, crossing the finish line in an impressive time of 2:06:57, more than two minutes clear of his closest rivals.
The battle for second place was a tightly contested affair, with the Netherlands’ Tom Wyfve ultimately securing the position in 2:09:05. He narrowly held off a late charge from Burkina Faso’s Soumaila Ilboudo, who completed the podium in 2:09:11.
