Black Queens Head Coach Kim Lars Björkegren has been appointed Assistant Coach of the Black Stars as part of efforts to bolster the technical set-up ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Björkegren was appointed alongside Frenchman Alain Ravera, who will also be an Assistant Coach.
“The strategic additions are aimed at enhancing the team’s competitiveness and ensuring a well-balanced technical structure as Ghana prepares for the global showpiece to be hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States of America,” the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said on Friday, February 6.
Aside the two, Carlos Lozano Romero has also been reappointed as Team Physiotherapist in order to ensure “continuity, familiarity with the team environment and proven professionalism.”
British-born Ghanaian performance specialist Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi has also bee appointed Performance Coach.
According to the GFA, the appointments are just for the 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
“The five experts will work alongside the existing technical team led by Head Coach Otto Addo, as Ghana intensifies preparations for the summer tournament and aims to make a strong impact on the global stage.”
