Kumordzi snubs Chievo to sign new Genk deal

Ghana international Bernard Yao Kumordzi has signed a new deal with KRC Genk and is looking up to the coming Belgian season.

The 27-year-old’s contract was due to end in the summer of 2015 but has extended it by two more years, despite great interest from Chievo Verona, Metz and Caen.

“I am very happy at Genk and I love my football here,” Kumordzi told Goal Ghana before heading for pre-season. “I am not keen on a move now despite the various interest as some moves I have made in the past affected me.”

The midfielder, who was one of the club’s best players last season, is expected to play a major role this season.
