Schlupp signs new 3-year deal at Leicester

Ghana defender Jeffrey Schlupp has signed a new three-year contract with newly promoted English Premier League club.

The Black Stars left back enjoyed an impressive end to the 2013/14 campaign as the Foxes secured automatic promotion to the English Premier League from the Championship.

Schlupp joins a long list of players to commit their futures to Leicester this summer after Wes Morgan, Kasper Schmeichel, Liam Moore, David Nugent, Danny Drinkwater and Matty James all penned new deals.

“I’m delighted to sign a three-year deal with Leicester City,” Schlupp told the club’s official website.

“I’ve been at the club since I was 11 so to be able to say I’m staying for at least another three years is fantastic.

“I’m just so happy to be a part of it. I’m Leicester through and through and now I can’t wait to try and show what I can do in the Premier League.

“When I first signed for Leicester it was the last time they were in the Premier League, so to be there myself now is great, and the fact that it’s with Leicester City makes it all that more special.”

Schlupp, who finished City’s Championship-winning season strongly at left-back, enjoyed a breakthrough season at the heart of defence, has been handed a fresh three-year contract to keep them at the club until 2017.
