Bola to Rio: MTN give away 5 brand new cars to subscribers

LED television sets, smartphones and tablets were all given out but MTN surprised everybody by presenting 5 sleek Kia Rio Saloon cars to winners at the final presentation.

Lucky MTN subscribers were smiling and celebrating all the way to the bank over the weekend when winners of the Bola Go to Rio promotion received mouthwatering prizes after the final draw of the campaign which began in March.

Five of the luckiest winners all went home with a brand new Kia Rio saloon new car each, with all papers and documents duly registered. Udeagwu Alphonsus Obinna, Joseph Chijioke, Veronica Zigah, Baba Yunus Muhammad and Sarkodie Patrick were the lucky MTN users who won a car each.

“I am very happy as you can see, I’m surprised because I didn’t even dream of this. It’s a favour from God,” said an excited Chijioke, a Ghana based Nigerian motor spare parts dealer.

Equally ecstatic and thanking God for the perfect gift to give her Medical School daughter was Veronica Zigah, the only female among the five winners.

“I have a daughter in Medical School. She is in level 500 and needs a car so I promised her that this year I will buy her a car and this is what God has done,” Madam Zigah said.

MTN, easily Ghana’s leading telecommunication network started the promotion which ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup with monthly draws and various prizes including cars won every month since March.

Indeed some MTN subscribers were sponsored on an all expenses paid trip to Brazil to watch some of Ghana’s games at the recently ended FIFA World Cup whilst others have also won several prizes along the way.

“It was a nice experience, a very nice holiday and I really enjoyed it. The hotel was good, all the football and excursions were great and they also gave us free time to do our own thing. So definitely the Brazil experience ws very exciting,” said Rama Kudolo, one of the sponsored subscribers to the World Cup.

In the event, Baba Iddi, Affanyi Dennis, Kpakol Letura Goodluck, Victoria Abiola, Chen Xinbin and Makaelu Tairu were winners of LED TVs each at the final presentation.

Samsung Galaxy tablet winners were Adwoa Selby and Rhlisa Gbesiagbe with Afutu Moyosola Olutomilola, Msugu Daniel and Iddrisu Razaq won a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini phone each whilst Loretta Anaman and Morsindi Chukwuemeka Nnamelim went home with a Huawei Y220 phone each.
