Former Nigeria captain Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha has tipped the Black Stars of Ghana to win the AFCON in Equatorial Guinea in January 2015.
Okocha told Lebuteur he expects no surprises at the African football showpiece.
“I do expect no surprises during this Afcon [2015], as was the case in 2012 when Zambia won the trophy.”
“For me, the favorites are Algeria, Ghana, Tunisia and Ivory Coast, who for some time now have always been tipped to win the Afcon. The Ivorians have a team of talented players. I do not understand how they keep missing [the trophy] every time,” he remarked.
“Maybe 2015 will be good for them,” the ex-Bolton star concluded.
The AFCON kicks off on January 17 with the host Equatorial Guinea playing Congo.
