Recovering Everton winger, Christian Atsu will not travel to Ghana to join the Black Stars squad for training but would rather meet the rest of the contingent in Spain.
The Chelsea loanee, 22, is recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered while in action for Everton in a Premier League game last year.
Atsu was named in Ghana’s provisional squad for the 2015 AFCON and should have travelled to Accra to train with the rest of the squad before leaving to Spain where the Ghana squad will be based until they leave for Equatorial Guinea on January 15.
Atsu has been granted the amenity due to his injury conditions.
The Ghana team doctors would check on his fitness when he arrives in Spain and brief head coach Avram Grant on whether to include him the squad or not.
