Mr Francis Essah Adu, Information Technology (IT) Manager, at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has said the introduction of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Connect system of player registration would help address double registration of players.
He said, the new system would connect all registered players globally onto a central data base and said Ghana happens to be the only Federation on the African continent included in the FIFA piloted project.
Mr Adu made the comments, when he spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at a one day workshop to train club officials in the Eastern Region on the new system of registration at Koforidua.
He said, registered players, administrators and technical officials would be hooked onto the system adding that, the system would also generate FIFA player passport which indicate the number of clubs he has played since amateur till the time the player quits football.
Mr Adu explain that, the system would enable local clubs to be paid benefits by professional clubs as part of a FIFA solidarity or training compensation to them for training young players who would get the chance to sign international contracts .
He said, through the system, the teams with their connected code would see all the clubs, a player has played and pay the solidarity to the local clubs played by the player from 12 to 23 years.
Mr. Adu hinted that, the new system of player registration takes effect from March 29 and ends on 31st May, 2016, for division two, third division, juvenile and women clubs nationwide, adding, the Ghana Premier League and the National First Division clubs used the same system this season.
He urged the clubs to take a critical watch at their young players and monitor their progress till they sign professional contract.
