Young Ghanaian Ayo commits to Iona University Men’s Basketball

Budding Ghanaian Small Forward Sadiku Ayo Idine has committed to play Basketball for Iona University Men’s Team.

The commitment from Ayo is part of Iona’s efforts in recruiting players eligible for the 2022 Class; the 6 foot 6 inch Forward is in his senior year at Our Saviour Lutheran School.

Sadiku is rated as a three star prospect and had similar athletic scholarship offers from a handful of Universities including Auburn, St. John’s University, Seton Hall, Nebraska and University of Pittsburgh.

The athletic wing has flashed elite potential on both sides of the court, a key element for his position in the modern game. His commitment to Iona falls in line with the target he set in connection to announcing the program he would join by the end of September.

By picking Iona, Sadiku is set to play for Hall of Fame Coach Rick Pitino who has extensive experience coaching at the College level especially during his time at the University of Kentucky.

Ayo has connections to Chiefs Basketball Academy in Kumasi, Ghana.
