Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has supported the Ghana Goalball team currently competing in the IBSA Goalball Championship with an amount of Gh¢15,000 (fifteen thousand Ghana Cedis).
The presentation which was done on his behalf by the Central Regional Minister Justina Marigold Assan is to serve as motivation for the team as they seek to host and win the tournament and qualify for the 2022 World Cup in China.

Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has supported the Ghana Goalball team currently competing in the IBSA Goalball Championship with an amount of 15,000 Ghana Cedis.
The presentation which was done on his behalf by the Central Regional Minister Justina Marigold Assan is to serve as motivation for the team as they seek to host and win the Championship and qualify for the 2022 World Cup in China.
“We were told that morale in camp was very low, so the President told the Chief of Staff that we should come and visit the team so their morale will be boosted as they compete in this championship. So that is why I am here, and I must say that I was very impressed with your game against Algeria. Although you lost, we all know Algeria are a stronger side,” Justina Marigold said.
“I am not here empty handed. The president said I should present this money, Gh¢15,000 to the team. Gh¢10,000 for the players and Gh¢5,000 for the officials. We know with this gesture, you are going to be highly motivated and win the remaining matches,” she added.
President of the Ghana Blind Sports, Eric Kissi expressed his appreciation to the Regional Minister and the President for this gesture.
“We are very grateful for this support, this means that we persons with disability are also cared for. We have a lot of challenges but even with this gesture from the president we know our challenge will soon be a thing of the past,” Eric Kissi said.
Both Ghana men and women’s teams have played two matches so far in the ongoing continental championship. The men’s team won against Nigeria while the women’s team won against Kenya in their respective first game,

Ghana has played two matches so far in the ongoing Championship. The men’s team won against Nigeria while the women’s team won against Kenya in their respective first games on Monday, both teams however lost their second games to Algeria earlier today.
