AshantiGold SC will play King Faisal on Match Day 20 of the Ghana Premier League at the Len Clay stadium in Obuasi on Friday. The Miners go into the game in search of their first win in the second round of the season after tasting two defeats on the spin against Techiman Eleven Wonders and Karela United FC.
The former Champions fell 4-1 to Wonders on Match Day 18 before throwing away an early lead to lose 2-1 to Karela on Sunday.
AshantiGold have gone four matches without a win as they have lost three times, and drawn one in the process.
Interim Coach Thomas Duah is expected to weave the magic that would turn their season around beginning from Friday when they do battle against rivals King Faisal at home. Their home record is a major cause for concern as they have recorded only 3 wins from 10 matches with 4 ending in a draw amidst 3 home defeats.
By way of injury updates, first choice goalkeeper Kofi Mensah and defender Richard Osei Agyemang are available for selection after recovering from injuries that kept them on the side-lines for a few weeks.
King Faisal will aim for the three points in this encounter to make up for their narrow defeat to Aduana FC on Saturday.
The defeat dealt them a huge blow as they dropped out of the top four to the 7th place. Coach Nurudeen Amadu will be welcoming back midfielder Enoch Morrison and Attah Kusi from suspension and injury respectively.
Faisal’s last visit to the Len Clay Stadium was a humiliating 5-1 defeat in the 2020/21 season.
The match which is scheduled for the Obuasi Len Clay stadium will be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa Channel 247 on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 3pm.
