Interim Black Stars coach Otto Addo has named his starting XI to face Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the first leg of the final round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification series.
The Borussia Dortmund Head of Talent Development has named AS Roma starlet Felix Afena-Gyan in a strong XI for the fixture.
Afena-Gyan, 19, has scored twice in 15 Serie A appearances for I Giallorossi this season. He earns the starting spot on his maiden Ghana call-up.
Starting with him in attack is Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew who tested negative for COVID-19 after initially producing a positive result.
Meanwhile, Belgian-born right-back Denis Odoi, who once featured for Fulham in the English Premier League, has earned the nod to start ahead of Andy Yiadom at the right side of defence.
Gideon Mensah, Alexander Djiku, and Daniel Amartey are the rest of the defenders who will be supervised by returnee goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott.
With Daniel-Kofi Kyereh missing from action due to an injury suffered during a training session, Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been joined in central midfield by Real Mallorca’s Mohammed Baba Iddrisu.
