Ghana won 3-0 in their first match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on Wednesday evening in Cape Coast.
Following a lacklustre first half, the Black Stars improved significantly in the second half, scoring three goals.
Kudus Mohammed was the first to score, smashing the ball into the net from close range to calm the nerves and give the Black Stars motivation to go for more.
Kudus scored in the 53rd minute, and Felix Afena-Gyan flicked the ball into the net three minutes later for Ghana’s second goal, his first for the country.
Osman Bukari scored his first Ghana goal in the 86th minute to seal the victory.

The goalkeeper had a quiet evening as he wasn’t tested by Madagascar.
Denis Odoi – 7.5
He was solid in defence and contributed in attack when necessary. His run brought about the opener.

Leicester City put on another impressive performance for Ghana, ensuring that Madagascar’s forwards did not enjoy themselves.
Gideon- 7
The left-back, who played as a central defender, looked a bit shaky but improved and assisted the second goal.
Baba Rahman- 6.5
The Chelsea owned player was just in the game idling.
Baba Idrissu – 7
The Mallorca midfielder performed admirably, dominating the midfield.
Mohammed Kudus -9
Without a doubt, Ghana’s best player. He was on fire, tormenting Madagascar’s defence. He deserved to score.
Andre Ayew – 6
The captain’s performance was not up to his lofty standards.
Fatawu Issahaku-5
For the youngster, it was an evening to forget due to his poor performance.
Jordan Ayew- 7
Crystal Palace forward played well and selflessly. Unfortunately, he was unable to score his first Ghana goal since March 2021.
Afena-Gyan – 7.5
He was solid but was shaky and could have scored more.
