Asamoah Gyan starts training to be fit for Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup

Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has been spotted training after revealing his desire to make a sensational comeback for the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

The legendary striker was captured training at Ajax Park in Legon, hoping to get back into shape before the tournament begins on November 20.

Gyan, who has scored 51 goals for Ghana, said he is bidding to make a shock return to the international fold as he eyes a spot in Ghana’s World Cup squad.

Gyan has been sidelined, with his last appearance for the Black Stars coming three years ago. The Sunderland man was a substitute in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 clash against Tunisia.

He has since not been invited with his club career in recent years making it very difficult to consider him for selection.
