The Africa Bowling Development Championship,2023 has just ended at the prestigious Koko Bowling Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The event which attracted five out of the ten federations affiliated to the Africa Bowling Federation commenced on 14th and ended on the 19th February, 2023.
The Ghana Bowling Federation, which was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, participated in this tournament and as a new federation, had the privilege to compete with some of the elite bowlers from the continent.
A Ghanaian bowler in the person of Festus Annan, picked a medal for the best points average player, Ghana’s first.
The other bowler, John Gli also earned high praise for his brilliant strikes as a first timer.
In an interview with the local press after the closing ceremony, the President of the Federation, Charles Obeng Amofah, used the opportunity to thank the Minister for Youth and Sports, Honourable Mustapha Ussif for the huge support, which enabled the team to participate in the tournament.
He aslo extended his appreciation to the Chief Director of of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Alhaji Hafiz Adams for his continuous support since the inauguration of the Federation in October 2022.
He also thanked all the other stakeholders and executives of the federation for the extra work they all exhibited before, during after the event.
Other members of the delegation included Robert Adjase Tetteyfio and Kwame Baa Mensa of the National Sports Authority.
Team Ghana are due back home on Wednesday, 22nd February2023.
