The Swavy Blu Boxing Promotions treated staunch boxing fans at the Golden Beach Resort in Korle Gonno, Accra, to some epic and mouthwatering boxing bouts when ‘The Reign’ boxing event took place, a WBO Africa Lightweight Championship bout headlining the much anticipated event.
WBO Africa Lightweight Champion, Sheriff Quaye successfully defended his title with a flawless performance against challenger, Bright Ayala, to retain his title and also potentially elevate him on the African rankings.
The boxing prodigy wowed boxing fans at the Golden Beach Resort with some excellent boxing skills and mind-blowing footwork compounded with a couple of jabs and combinations which eventually compelled his opponent to kiss the canvas in the 8th round of the bout, the result improving Sherif’s professional record to 24-3-1, 11 KO’s.
Kurrency Boxing Management signings, Stephen Coffie and Issifu Sulley were also in action on the night as part of the supporting bouts. Both boxers triumphing on the night with a 2nd round and 4th round knockouts respectively.
Stephen Coffie defeated Manaf Tetteh in a virtually one-sided encounter, the former improving his record to 1-0-1 with an outstanding K.O performance that sent his opponent down on his knees in the opening seconds of the second round.
Issifu Sulley, A.K.A Labista, also getting the better of his opponent, Amadu Seidu, in his first ever professional boxing bout, ensuring his hard work and vigorous training sessions paid off on the night with a stellar performance.
Speaking after his K.O victory on the night, Stephen Coffie, expressed delight in his performance, saying that he will keep training hard until he gets to the pinnacle.
Issifu Sulley, AKA Labista also reacted to his 4th round victory on the night, saying, “I am very happy to get my first professional victory. It didn’t come easy, but I’ve been training all my life for this moment and I’m happy I took it with both hands”.
Both young boxers expressed their immense gratitude to Kurrency Boxing Management for giving them a huge platform and also believing in them and promised to bring titles to their manager.
