Stanley Nyantakyi records maiden pro win

Super featherweight contender, Stanley Nyantakyi, is looking to build on his maiden pro win against Albert Armah as he looks to build on his young career.

Nyantakyi, alias Ashanti Warrior, believes the future looks bright after his second-round knockout win over Armah and wants to focus on working harder to achieve his dream of becoming a world champion in the future.

Newly signed by Osebor Boxing Management, the Bronx Boxing Club fighter has called on the Akan community to rally behind him to become the first boxer from Ashanti Region to win a world title.

“It was an important win, and I am working hard to ensure I build on this victory to reach the top,” Nyantakyi told Graphic Online.

“The future looks bright if I listen to my trainers and continue working hard. I am ready to make my people proud and I call on them to come together to support my world title dream.”

Nyantakyi lost his pro debut bout to Emmanuel Mawuli in a close split decision loss despite rocking his opponent in the second round.

Last Saturday, the youngster returned to winning ways on the Sheriff Quaye v Bright Ayala’s World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa lightweight championship card.

Meanwhile, Nyantaki’s manager, Gordon Frimpong is very optimistic his boxer can achieve a world champion status if he continues working harder.

Mr Frimpong added that he was ready to support him to reach higher heights in the future.

“I really believe in Stanley and that is why I decided to invest in him,” said Mr Frimpong.
