Top sports promotional outfit, Gh Bosslink Sports in collaboration with partners, Bida Homes and Construction on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu at his Palace in Accra
The purpose of the visit was to request the blessings of the leader of the Islamic religion in this country as they prepare for a tour of some North and South American countries by their newly formed amputee football team before end of the year.
Aside some of the football players who were on hand to be introduced to the Chief Imam, the group also releaved that plans are far advanced for an amputee boxing team to also be launched soon, to as it were, provide an opportunity at livelihood for the physically challenged street kids.
“We are determined to take our less privileged brothers off the streets and engage them in sports, namely football and boxing. The aim is to give them opportunities to better their lives,” Priscilla Yaawo Medaho, Secretary of Gh Bosslink Sports explained.
“That’s the ideology of Gh Bosslink Sports with the support of our long time sponsors, Bida Homes. We are trying to do something better for our brothers who are deprived in our Zongo communities, so we saw it wise to seek the blessings and guidance of our spiritual father, the Chief Imam and we are excited with the reception we have received here today,” Ms. Medaho added.
Fully supporting the amputee team and their imminent training tour of Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Mexico and USA is Ibrahim Amadu, CEO of Bida Homes and Construction, experts in luxurious but affordable homes across Ghana who have for nearly eight years supported Gh Bosslink Sports and their many initiatives.
“At Bida Homes, we specialise in all kinds of construction and all kind of buildings including commercial, residential and contract buildings which are affordable but also very luxurious. It is the same quality and luxury we want to help give to the less privileged by supporting a project like this,” Mr. Amadu said.
“At Bida Homes we believe a help to better the lives of our own less privileged brothers is our social corporate responsibility, when Allah blesses you, giving back to society should be a priority. We will continue to support Gh Bosslink Sports and such charitable endeavours,” the Bida Homes and Construction chief affirmed.
Other officials of both outfits present at the short interaction were Collins-Bio Donkor, CEO of Gh Bosslink, Adam Osman Labaran (Procurement Manager, Gh Bosslink), Iddrissu Osman (Senior Procurement Officer, Bida Homes) and Farouk Issak, a Supervisor at Bida Homes as well as another financier of the amputee team, Abdul- Musah Razak, MD of RAJGAF Company Limited.
The group also took the opportunity to make a donation of drinks and water to the Chief Imam, who in turn poured his anointing on their ambitions.
“I thank you so much for coming, I thank you for your gifts and also for the good work you are doing both at Gh Bosslink and Bida Homes. We need more people like you in our society,” Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu said through an interpreter.
“Glod bless and always protect you, may you be successful in all your endeavours. Go and make Ghana proud,” the 103 year old leader of Islam in Ghana prayed.
