Mozambique President hails boxers for shining at 2023 Africa Boxing Championships

It is very disappointing that Ghana has no world champion – Joseph Agbeko

Mozambique President, His Excellency Filipe Nyusi (pictured with the team) has hailed the national boxing team for their exemplary performance in the 2023 Africa Championships in Yaounde, Cameroon.

“You’re our heroes,” Filipe said.

“Some years ago Mozambican boxing was a small sport, now it’s  among the most respected sport inMthe country. With effort, nothing is impossible. We love boxing,” he added.

The team was led by the President of Mozambican federation, Gabriel Junior.

Mozambique placed fifth with two gold, two silver and five bronze medals at the tournament held in the West African country last month.

Boxing celebs, light-middleweight Alcinda dos Santos and middleweight Rady Gramane won the two gold medals.
