Lancaster Hotel Tennis Club honour Coach Abdul Karim Dowuona

Lancaster Hotel (formerly Golden Tulip Hotel) on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 honoured Coach Abdul Karim Dowuona with a tournament for members and guests and a presentation.

Coach Karim as he is popularly known, served the club for 32 years.

The guest of honour for the event was TFG Holdings President, Roger Crawford. Mr. Crawford, a lifelong friend of Coach Karim recounted their childhood playing days and described his friend as very honest.

Mr. Crawford acknowledged the club, saying, “This honor will serve as motivation for others to do well, knowing that their hard work will be rewarded someday.

Chairman of the club Wing Commander Andy Mensah (rtd) was full of praise for coach Karim for his selfless and dedicated service to the club.

He thanked all the members for pulling together to give their coach a befitting retirement send-off.

Accepting all the gifts and accolades, a tearful Coach Karim praised the chairman and members of the club for the honor done him.

In the ceremonial doubles tournament, Dr. Bankah and his partner Derrick Dankyi beat Tetteh Amedjoe and Alhaji Ibrahim in the finals. Notable tennis friends of Coach Karim were in attendance, including National Coach Ayi Dartey, Dan Quartey, and Gustav Bruce.
