Germany are heading to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Final after beating the United States 113-111 against all odds.
The U.S. team will have to wait for the next World Cup to try for another gold medal.
The German team, led by Dennis Schröder and Andy Obst, was superior throughout the game even though Steve Kerr’s tried to make a comeback multiple times.
Austin Reaves and Anthony Edwards were the U.S. team’s star players. At the end of the second quarter, the United States led the scoreboard by one point.
The Germans had a great third quarter, both on defense and offence, which earned them the lead. They kept that lead in the last quarter.
Now, they will head to the finals where they will face Serbia, which defeated Canada by 95-86 in the other semifinal.
