Gassiev and Wallin meet in Turkey

Murat Gassiev and Otro Wallin will fight this Saturday at the Regnum Carya Hotel, in Antalya, Turkey, for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental heavyweight belt.

The Russian will face the Swede in the main event of the historic night that will take place in this country. It will be the first time that a regional title of the pioneer organization will be contested in Turkey, making it a very special occasion for the sport.

Gassiev was cruiserweight champion and his only loss was at that weight against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, who was champion in that category and is now heavyweight champion in three organizations (WBA, IBF and WBO).

In Wallin’s case, he is a strong opponent with a good record whose only defeat has been against Tyson Fury, current WBC heavyweight champion. The European is facing a great opportunity and wants to take advantage of it with a victory that will help him move up in the world arena.

Gassiev has a record of 30 wins, 1 loss and 23 knockouts, while Wallin has 25 wins, 1 loss and 14 knockouts.
