World title challenger Jimmy Kelly Jr is ready to push on to the big names at middleweight as he returns to the ring this Wednesday night on ProBox TV.
Kelly Jr gave an insight into his year-ending ten-rounder against fellow world title challenger Juan Jose Velasco.
The Manchester native said, “I’m glad to be back on ProBox TV and ready to put on an explosive performance like people haven’t seen before.
“I’ve got different elements to my game. I can come forward and fight. I showed that against Jaime Munguia. I went in there and banged with a banger, and I’ll do it again if I have to.
“I’m planning on showing I’m excited and that I can compete with the best at middleweight. People around me know that I’m going to show it to everybody watching on Wednesday night.”
Kelly Jr has repeatedly called out unified middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly, however, the Mancunian outlined his hopes for 2024.
The middleweight contender stated, “I’ve been calling Janibek out for years now. I’m more well-known in Kazakhstan than anybody he’s fought. I beat Kanat Islam and got ignored, but it is what it is. I can’t make him fight me. I’m happy to jump in with another Kazak if it means forcing a fight with Janibek.
“The likes of Elijah Garcia are on my radar, I’ll fight all of those types of guys. I’ve beaten undefeated hyped-up fighters before and I’ll do it again if it means getting to a world middleweight title fight in 2024. That’s what I want.”
