President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlev has met with Pope Francis today in the Vatican to champion a message of global peace.
Emphasizing unity beyond borders, religions, and nationalities, the leaders discussed the power of sports, like boxing, in fostering understanding and harmony among diverse communities.
Their shared vision highlights the idea that in the ring of life, we are all bound by a common humanity, striving for peace.
“Faith and sports should always go hand in hand and in the same direction. Each athlete should be spiritually enriched, and every believer should take care of their health,” President Kremlev said.
“For each of its participants, be it an athlete, coach, or official, the IBA is a boxing temple where everyone can find warmth, care, protection, and family support,” he added.
“We aim for peace worldwide and the complete unity of all people on the planet. Believe, and then surely the world will be brighter and kinder, and you will be filled with grace. Amen,” the IBA chief prayed.
