The Black Stars of Ghana turned hundreds of heads and attention on their arrival in Abidjan dressed in colorfully made Ghanaian Kente dress.
The Stars, making their 24th appearance at the tournament are seeking to win their 5th championship trophy after going 42 years without a triumph on the continental stage.
The Black Stars contingent, comprising of 27 players, technical and management staff touched down Wednesday morning at the Ivorian capital in a bid to hoist the flag of Ghana.
The Black Stars arrived in Ivory Coast wearing an all-white Ghanaian made Kaftan, before changing into the colorful Kente cloth to the admiration of all staff of the Confederation of Africa Football and some other members of the Airport staff.
The Black Stars are in Group B together with 7-time winners, champions Egypt, Mozambique, who are making their 5th appearance at the tournament, and Cape Verde who are in the tournament for the 4th time.
Ghana take on Cape Verde in their opening game at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Sunday January 14.
