Reigning MTN FA Cup champions, Dreams FC will face Division One League side, Soccer Intellectuals in the quarter-final of the 2023/24 campaign, the final draw has revealed.
With FA Cup Committee chairman, Wilson Arthur – whose own club, Skyy FC remain in contention – in attendance, the draw was conducted Tuesday at the plush MTN House head office of the competition’s sponsors.
Dreams, owned by Ghana FA boss, Kurt Okraku overcame now relegated King Faisal in the decider of last season’s tournament to clinch the first major trophy in their history and remain in hunt for back-to-back titles with just two victorious ties away from a return to the final.
But the side currently involved in the knockout phase of the CAF Confederation Cup must first overcome a tricky tie against second tier side, Soccer Intellectuals who overcame Hohoe United in the round of 16 to advance to this stage.
Meanwhile Nsoatreman FC will meet Karela United in one of two all-top flight ties, Legon Cities against Bechem United being the other. Incidentally, the winner in each of these two games, will meet in the semi finals, as permuted by the draw.
It also means that the winner of the clash between Dreams FC and Soccer Intellectuals will book a semi final date against the victor of quarter final number 3 which pits Premier League returnees, Bofoakwa Tano at home to Skyy FC.
