Ryan Garcia misses weight but fight with Devin Haney will still go ahead following chaotic weigh-in

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia both hit the scales.

Ryan Garcia missed weight by over 3lbs as his opportunity to become world champion against Devin Haney was taken away from him.

The fight will still go ahead, but if Garcia wins, he won’t take Haney’s WBC crown.

The pair came face to face for the final time at a fiery weigh in inside the Barclays Center, the same venue of the fight.

Garcia came in 143.2lbs with Haney making the championship weight of 140lbs just after Garcia appeared to have drunk an alcoholic beverage on the scales.

As well as the two fighters trading verbal jousts, Bernard Hopkins and Haney’s father, Bill, also had to be kept apart.

It’s unclear what started their issue, but the matter was swiftly resolved by security who were present on stage.

All that’s left now is for the fight to take place and it goes down tomorrow night so check your region to catch the action on DAZN PPV.
