Black Stars head coach Otto Addo will arrive in Accra on Monday, May 27, 2024 to take charge of the national team on full time basis, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have announced.
The former national team midfielder who took over from Chris Hughton in March has signed a long term deal after receiving the nod as the new coach of the team following a rigorous recruitment exercise in March, reports the GFA’s website
Coach Addo will take charge of Ghana’s imminent FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic in the next two weeks.
The Black Stars are away to the Eagles in Bamako on Thursday, June 6 in a match day 3 fixture in African qualifying Group before hosting CAR few days later, Monday June 10, 2024.
The Ghanaians will open camp this Thursday, May 30 in readiness for the two games.
The Black Stars are 4th in Group I with 3 points after one win and one loss in the first two matches.
Only the group winner is assured a ticket to the 2026 finals scheduled to be co-hosted jointly by Canada, Mexico and USA.
