Hasaacas Ladies beat Ampem Darkoa to reclaim Ghana women’s league title

Hasaacas Ladies have reclaimed the Malta Guinness Premier League title after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Ampem Darkoa Ladies on Saturday June 8, 2024.

Two quick goals in the first half proved crucial for the Sekondi-based side as they claimed the title at the expense of their rivals at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.

Veronica Baah opened the scoring for Hasmal in the 11th minute with a belter before former Ghana Under-20 star Abdulai Mukarama added the second three minute later to set the tone for an exciting match.

Ophelia Serwaa pulled a goal back for the defending champions in the 73rd minute but that was not enough as Ampem Darkoa Ladies lost the crown to their major rivals.

It’s a massive feat for Hasaacas Ladies after they lost the finals to the same side back-to-back.

Hasaacas have now extended their Premier League title win to six in an astonishing 10 years.

It was a thrilling end to an exciting match that produced several magical moments for the cheering crowd at the Stadium.

Hasaacas Ladies have now qualified for the WAFU Women’s Championship, scheduled to take place in Cote D’voire later this year.
