Former Premier League side Inter Allies promoted back to Division One

International Allies have secured promotion to the Access Bank Division One League after beating West African Football Academy (WAFA) 4-1 on penalties in the Volta Division Two promotional playoff at the weekend.

WAFA opened the scoring in the 16th minute courtesy Kwesi Nyamekye before Michael Siaw pulled parity in the 53rd minute to send the game into the lottery of a penalty shoot-out.

Allies emerged victorious during a tense penalty shoot-out, clinching qualification to the country’s second-tier league after a 4-1 triumph.

The feat is significant milestone for the Eleven Is To One lads, who were relegated from the Ghana Premier League in the 2021-22 season.

Inter Allies will now compete in the Access Bank Division One League next season with an eye for qualification back to to the top-tier of Ghanaian football.
