Newly crowned Ghana champioms, FC Samartex will face Victoria United of Cameroon in the preliminary round of their debut CAF Champions League, it is official.
This follows the preliminary draw earlier Thursday, with Samartex placed in pot 3 before sides across the continent knew their opponents in the first stage towards continental group stage competition.
In the event, the Ghanaian champions are billed to honour the opening leg of the opening round away from home before the decisive fixture in Accra few days later, August 16-25.
Next in line should the Ghanaian side edge through will be either ASGNN of Niger or Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic in September, 13-22.
Samartex made history by annexing the 2023/24 Ghanaian top flight title in only their second season and will represent the country in continental club competition alongside MTN FA Cup winners, Nsoatreman FC who will contest in the CAF Confederations Cup.
