Juanita Borteye reaches semi finals of ITTF Africa U-15 tournament

Star girl of Ghana table tennis, Juanita Borteye has defeated her Ugandan opponent, Patra Nasirumbi 4-2 (5-11, 11-8, 14-12, 8-11, 11-9, 11-4) in the quarter-finals to book a place in the medal zone in the girls’ singles under 15 category at the on-going ITTF African Youth Championships in Gaborone, Botswana.

Under the watchful eyes of Coach Cynthia Kwabi, Juanita Borteye defeated Karolina Shigwedha of Namibia 3-0 (11-1, 11-2, 11-2) and Rethabile Motsamai of Botswana 3-0 (11-3, 11-2, 11-2) in the group stages, drew a bye in the round of 32 and defeated Tina Andriantahina of Madagasca 4-0 (11-7, 11-3, 11-5, 12-10) in the round of 16.

In the semi-finals, Juanita Borteye will face Khadeeja Elhakim of Egypt for a place in the final.
